Often I enjoy reading a story but forget it soon afterwards. I think I'll remember this novella for quite a while. The narrator's style is almost understated, very much not a story with blood and gore bursting from every page, which only heightens the impact of the violent sequences. The characters are well drawn, the world is vivid, and the content is striking indeed.

A moving science fiction story about the impact of life extension, seen from the perspective of one old woman. I particularly liked the characterization -- the old woman's small flaws helped make her all the more believable.
