Working

I write when and where I can, even when I'm traveling. Although I can write in longhand, my penmanship is so bad that even I have trouble reading it. Whenever possible, I use a computer or typewriter.

A cold Florida boy in Spain. This was taken one January as I was writing on the balcony in my hotel overlooking Las Ramblas in Barcelona. On this trip I had an old Radio Shack laptop (expanded memory). It had the advantage of using regular batteries, useful on long trips. I'm a big Gaudi fan, and like Barcelona a lot.

This was taken some time ago in Merritt Island. I'm sitting on the dock at my parents' house, working on THERE IS NO DARKNESS. Typewriter this time. It was my mother's and had a script typeface. A little unsettling at first, but for first draft it was fine. It got the words down, and after the first page I didn't really notice the funny type.

This is fairly current, taken in Key West. It's a ringer of sorts, as I'm not really working. Well, I guess I was working, after a fashion, giving a reading for the fine folks who put on Traveling Fete. This is my current laptop, a Compaq.
