This year I put in a pond. I've been wanting it for over 30 years. Eventually I will get around to captioning the photos.
As you can see from the photos the frogs are common Green Frogs - Rana clamitans. Unfortunately they all look like females to me... But I am no expert and they won't reach maturity for a year or two. During the day they hang out around the pond but at night they like to hunt in my nearby veggie garden.
There are also a few pictures of Discernment, my little pond turtle. The folks I got it from said it was a yellow-bellied slider but it looks like a River Cooter to me. You decide. Dis' is a friendly little (mostly) vegetarian. Dis' fights with the goldfish over fish flakes, water hyacinth, and the occasional earthworm. Dis' did eat ALL the pond snails but its favorite treat is a bit of tomato or strawberry. I have no idea if Dis' is male or female.... Supposedly you can sex them by comparing tail length. I have nothing to compare it to ;)
