I'm back in the swing of the workout and cardio portion of the Body For Life program. Getting back into the gym was fairly easy, since I do rather enjoy weightlifting, however I was finding it pretty darn difficult to motivate myself to do the cardio. I was trying, for a while, to get up early and do about 20 minutes on the treadmill, but unfortunately that is screamingly boring. So, my solution was to go back to the Academy, and run with the new class. (I get to run as a quasi-instructor, which means I don't have to do all the pushup crap!) This makes me get out and run three times a week (though there will be days when my work schedule will conflict, but for the most part I should be able to make it.) Plus, by running with the class, it keeps me from wussing out and deciding to go a lesser distance (or not go at all!) I'm still not back on the diet portion of the program, but that's this week's project. I realized yesterday that I'm almost halfway through the 12 week program, so I really need to get my butt back in gear. I do see results, so I can just imagine what it would be like if I actually disciplined myself to stick to the program totally. ![]() Had a nice relaxing weekend, with no work, no details, no real plans... Okay, I was bored shitless most of the time, but I did get a lot of sleep. Rented Galaxy Quest, which was a darn funny movie. Rented End of Days which I shut off after about 20 minutes. Thought hard about going to see a movie this afternoon (only 50 cents, what the hell) but then decided to take a nap instead. After that I did some housecleaning and laundry. Godalmighty I need a life. I wanna go fishing, dammit. I have got to try and talk some of these guys with boats into taking me along when they go fishing. |
