Ow ow ow ow ow. Sore. Teach me to lay off of working out for over a week and then dive back in by trying to increase my weight. (The weight I'm lifting--not how much I weigh.) Plus I started back with the running, so that's some extra soreness. Then I sabotaged the whole thing by making cookies. ;-) And since there's no one else here, I pretty much had to eat the whole batch by myself.

Ya gotta love single life.

Today I took Zeus back to the shelter where I adopted him, to get his last heartworm check done. If you'll remember, Zeus had heartworms when he was brought in to the shelter and was treated while he was there. When I adopted him I was told to bring him back in June for the final check to be sure he was all clear. And the good news is that he is totally free of the heartworms! Now, as long as I keep him on a normal heartworm preventive, he'll be heartworm-free the rest of his life.

I was also terribly proud of him because he was extremely well-behaved the whole time. He was perfect during the drive up there and back (and it's kindof a long drive) and was only mildly hyper with all of the other dogs around at the shelter. The vet there asked me to muzzle Zeus while he drew the blood for the exam (which I could understand since Zeus can be pretty intimidating, and the vet was going to be right by Zeus's head.) Well, Zeus wasn't too keen on that, but he let me get it on anyway, and didn't fuss at all at the needle. And everyone at the shelter kept going on and on about how fabulous Zeus looked and how much better he was doing now. (He was pretty darn skinny when he left the shelter.)

On the drive back home he put his head in my lap and napped most of the way. It was so darn cute!

I spent this morning doing some "housekeeping" on my website. Just little crap and crud here and there, nothing too major, though I'd love to do a major overhaul. My HTML skills are adequate at best though, and a major overhaul would take up more time and energy than I really want to devote to it.

In other words, you're stuck with this look for a while.
