We went into Seattle today. It was grey and misty again, typical Seattle-area weather, or so I'm continually told. However, it's also cold, at least to me. 52 degrees this morning, and it didn't warm up all that much during the day. But Seattle was pretty enjoyable. We first drove to see where the dorm and the classroom for Clarion are, then did a bit of general exploring. Then we headed on down to Pike Street Market. It's similar in some ways to the French Quarter in New Orleans, but there's a great deal more. And the fish market is totally cool. Yeesh, some of those fish were huge! And yes, they do throw the fish around. We grabbed lunch down there; I had a salmon piroshky, and Mike got a gyro. That filled us up til we got home. After we left the market we drove north a bit and found a sort of "alternative" area called Fremont. Mike told me it was much like Berkeley. Since I've never seen Berkeley I'll have to take his word for it. * * * * * And I'm completely aggravated at my place of employment. I was supposed to have direct deposit, but when I checked my account balance this morning, it did not show a deposit. Tomorrow morning I'm going to have to make some calls and figure out what the hell happened. It's truly a pain in the ass since I'm supposed to pay my tuition/rent this weekend. |
