Zeus does his part to keep the universe safe from the Evil Squirrels.

Well, as you may remember, I mentioned a few entries back that I'd received Official Word that I'd been accepted as a reserve Deputy and would be going through the next reserve academy class.

Hurray, Rah, Nifty-Cool and all that stuff, right? Unfortunately I found out the other day that the class is not merely delayed, it's cancelled indefinitely. No one seems to have any solid clue as to when it's ever going to happen, but dark mutterings of "next year" were heard due to a total revamping of the training. Arrrgg!

Sigh. Spit. Oh well.

I've stopped going shooting every weekend; it's too expensive to keep doing that if there's no academy in sight.

I haven't been able to hook up with the K9 guy about training Zeus yet.

Still no word on my novel, the story I sent to the Avon antho back in January, or the story I sent to Asimov's at the end of April.

This is so frustrating. I swear, I feel like my entire life is in limbo. I wish something would just get settled for a change! (Preferably in a somewhat positive way.)

So anyway, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the cop-stuff. I'm not sure what I can do besides stomp around my house and grumble loudly. Frustrating to actually get accepted, and then be held back at this point. I was (and still am) so ready to get started with something new and interesting, and get the chance to meet some new people. Ye flipping gods but I'm bored.
