We went to the last party last night, though we were a pretty un-energetic crowd. John, whose house the party was at, and who had also hosted the first week's party, told me that one of the reasons he had wanted to host the first and last parties was so that he could see first-hand the change in us. And we didn't disappoint him, as we all sort of lounged lethargically around his living room.

We left fairly early too, with apologies to John. But everyone was tired, and looking at having to get up early the next day to finish packing and catch planes, etc. Chiara left at about 10PM last night. Burke and John left at about 5AM this morning, and a bunch of others left at around 9AM.

God, that was sad. We had the kleenex out and passed it around as we stood in the hall, hugging each other. It was wrenching and painful to see these people whom we'd become so close to pack up and leave. I may never see some of these people again, and that leaves me with an empty desolate feeling.

Though, I will see Chiara, Tamela and Susan at Worldcon, so at least those goodbyes were not so awful. It ended up that I was the last person to leave though, due to car trouble that my brother had, and it felt like someone was slowly peeling a bandaid off, as I watched people trickle away, and made goodbyes one at a time.

But, when all is said and done, we did kick all the ass.
