Well, school is over, and I'm able to sleep in my own bed and eat my own food once again. It was a terrific school, and I really got a lot out of it. The surprising thing to me was that there were a large number of people in the class with many many years of law enforcement experience, who had just as much of a clue about drugs as I did at the start of the class, i.e. not much. I feel so much more confident now about my ability to recognize drugs and users on the street. I can't wait to get back to work and try and find some now! I'm really hoping that I can go to some of the other schools offered there--though next time I'll bring more of my own food.

Of course Zeus was glad to see me return and rescue him from the kennel. He was totally hyper the rest of the evening, and did a lot of running around the perimeter of the yard. He hadn't had a chance to really run in a week, so he made up for lost time.

Yesterday I did a whole lot of nothing--mostly sat on the couch and read books and watched the Olympics. Absolutely loved watching last night when Marion Jones and Maurice Green won golds in the 100m sprints. I really do hope that she reaches her goal of five golds.

The Olympics also have the effect of making me want to get in better shape and lose the extra weight I have a tendency to carry. When I was watching the women's gymnastics, and seeing the ab development on some of those women, it made me get off the couch and go through my ab routine a few times while I was watching. It is nice to know though that I'm certainly not in bad physical condition, and am stronger than most women. My goal lately has been to lose the cushy padding that's presently covering up my muscles.

Eating the food on the base was a headstart. It's easy to lose weight when you can't finish your meal!
