I've only mostly dropped off the face of the earth! Okay, so it's been over a month since I've updated the journal. Too many reasons to count for not updating more often, including the inevitable lack of time. Being deep in the throes of an awfully nifty relationship tends to eat up available times in ways that are more interesting than sitting in front of the computer (not to mention the fact that I'm not spending anywhere near as much time at my own house, which means not near the computer.) I also had some silly reasons for not updating--one being that I really desperately want to change the layout of my main journal page, but have so far not figured out what I want to do to it, and was therefore stalling writing another entry until I could change the layout... Needless to say I gave up on that for the meantime. Wow, but lots has happened in the last month. I went to I'm also a detective now in property crimes. So far I really like it. It's a lot of work, but it's the kind of work I like--lots of digging and thinking and analysis. My hours are much more "normal" which J likes since he works "normal" hours as well. I also like not having to wear the brown polyester every day! I actually get to wear somewhat stylish clothing. Woo! (I dropped by my mom's house one day after I got off of work and she said that I looked just like a TV detective...LOL) My relationship with J is progressing extremely nicely. We have very similar temperaments and similar interests, and enough non-similar interests that we can have fun introducing each other to new things. I also get along very well with his 13-year-old daughter who lives with him. (He has several children, but most are grown and this one is the only one that lives with him.) J surprised me once by saying he liked having me around his daughter because I was a good role model. When I replied by staring at him in horror, he added that he thought it would be good for his daughter to see that it was cool to be smart and educated. (She's very interested in boys, makeup and clothing right now.) Akk... the pressure! I have to act smart! Hee hee. I'm sure other stuff has happened, but it can't have been very important since I don't remember anything else at this moment. I'm just pleased that I managed to squeak an entry in for March. |
