I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Positive that there's something I've forgotten to do or arrange or pay for. The wedding is Saturday, and it has gone from being a small cozy family and close friends, to over 60 people smushed into our abode. See, we figured that if everyone we invited actually came and brought a date, then we'd have about 50 people. And, what are the chances that everyone you invite will come? I mean, you kinda count on a fair number of people not coming, but you sorta have to invite anyway else people get insulted. (I've still managed to forget to invite crucial people... sigh...) But somehow, between people who we didn't think would come saying they were coming, and then other last minute guilt-vitations, it looks like we're going to have well over the worst-case scenario of 50 we'd been originally looking at. Aiiieeeeee..... I know I've forgotten something. I've ordered food, cake, and flowers. We bought booze, and we have a list of non-alcoholics and mixers to get. Mom has finished the dress, and I even fit into it (mostly--I think I have more... er... bosom than she did when she wore the dress.) I still need to get shoes. We have rings. We have the license. We even have someone to perform the ceremony. (And we're even managing to bring the whole thing in at just over a grand.) The rest of my life continues on in much the same vein as always. No interesting bodies at work. No spectacular cases have landed on my desk. I'm now the "official" fraud, forgery, and identity theft detective for my district. Woo Boy! I'm still working out, and have discovered the evil that is Spinning. Spinning is stationary cycling in a class setting, and while it sounds hokey and weird, it is actually a terrific workout that will Kick Your Ass. Cool thing is that beginners can go at their own pace without feeling like everyone is staring at the uncoordinated jerk in the back row (the true reason I have never been able to drag myself into an aerobics class.) And the advantage over stationary cycling on one's own, is that in a class it's a lot harder to wimp out before the hour is up. Not to mention the psychological kick of not wanting to look like a complete pussy in front of everyone else in the class. I especially like the fact that the scale almost always shows noticeable change (in the good direction) the morning after I do a spinning class. So, 3 more days and I'll be hitched again. Wow. |
