Various readers have threatened me with bodily harm if I don't post some wedding pics. Unfortunately I am scanner-less, and we still haven't gotten any of the decent pictures of the actual wedding back from the various poeple who took them. (The quotes we got from Pro photographers were staggering, and so we just told people to bring cameras, and we also scattered about a dozen throw-away cameras around the house for people to use.)

This past week has been a pretty good one. I've been ridiculously productive at work--finished a ton of paperwork that's been hanging over my head and closed a fair number of my cases. I also got incredibly lucky Friday morning when I received a call at about 1am from Dispatch. I've been working a check fraud case at a local truck stop and apparently the guy came back to try to cash yet another bad check, but this time the manager was on the ball and called 911 to have someone snatch him up. The guy got spooked and left, but Pearl River police (and believe me, that's damn near an oxymoron) managed to catch up to him and stopped the car he and two others were in just before they got onto the interstate. So, I got the wakeup call to ask me what I wanted them to do with this guy now that they'd caught up to him. I told them to arrest him (duh!) and arrest the two others. I'll spare you the general details, but I ended up getting out of the comfy bed, heading down to the complex, and spent most of the morning interviewing and interrogating and paperworking. Cool thing is that it solved my check fraud case real nice and pretty. Cooler thing is that when the car was searched there was a goodly amount of crack cocaine in the trunk, along with a stolen gun. So all three fine upstanding citizens got those charges put on them as well.

But the even cooler thing is that Sarge told me that since I ended up working about 8 hours wrapping this case up, I could take the rest of the day off if I wanted. That meant that I could join Jack for lunch in New Orleans at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Woo!

So, I went home and took about a three hour nap, then Jack and I headed into the city. We really had a terrific time, and in fact the whole weekend was wonderfully nice. We spent a lot of quality-cuddly time together, and also discovered a new restaurant in town that has truly excellent food that is quite reasonably priced. It has the sort of food that doesn't make you feel bloated and guilty after a meal--kinda mediterranean/asian if that makes any sense. Very yummy.

Married life is definitely agreeing with me. I never thought I could be this lucky. That man makes me ridiculously happy. I'm really madly in love with him!
