Where do I start? For one thing, I did indeed walk my tuckus off in Seattle (including c/l/i/m/b/i/n/g/d/o/w/n/a/h/i/l/l/s/i/d/e/ walking down six blocks to the waterfront). I also ate incredibly healthy food all weekend -- grilled fish, fresh vegetables, salads, the whole kit and kaboodle.
And did I lose an ounce of weight? Did I fuck (although my pants did feel a bit looser, admittedly). This just reinforces my devout belief that I can do aerobics until the cows come home, and it won't do dick. To lose weight, I need to build muscle mass that will slurp up all that stored energy, which means I have to lift big ol' heavy weights.
So last night, I repaired to the weight room and proceeded to do lat pulldowns, standing lat pulldowns, dumbbell curls, standing rows (should have done deadlifts, but the knees said, "Uh, no"), then got on the swissball at home and did 30 crunches. Today, I have a pleasant burn in the affected muscles, which is a good thing. Tonight, the "push" series -- yay!
