I got my butt down to the weight room last night and did my 25 on the reclining bike, plus 3x10 overhead presses and standing lat pulldowns, so I feel like I'm on track. Of course, if the weather continues as predicted and turns utterly shitty tonight (freezing rain and serious wind), I may just do the leg work in my bedroom tonight. Brr.

Body mods: now that the Crimson Tide is in full flow, I'm sloshing about like a Melanie-shaped water balloon (and man, is my back hurting), so damn if I can see any improvement anywhere. Which is a bit of a bummer, but I'm hoping it means that I'll see some dramatic improvement on Saturday and Sunday. I'm also kicking myself for leaving the Pamprin at home, dammit.

I dunno if I was feeling sick or just tired last night (the couple of bites of food I had at Chili's didn't help -- between that greasefest and the time I got food poisoning after eating at a Chili's in Alpharetta, I don't think we're going to go there anymore), but I went to bed the moment Lyndon was off to work, and did the weightlifting this morning. Thank Cthulhu the complex finally got off their asses and bought new benches for the weight room -- they mysteriously disappeared about five months ago, and if you wanted to bench press you had to use the incline situp bench. Um, no.

So I did my bench and triceps presses, as well as standing lat pulldowns. I'd gotten up late and needed to get into work, so I'll do the overhead presses and ab work tonight when I do my cardio.

Body mods: nothing really new that I can see, but I'm also in the middle of the Crimson Tide, so the bloating is probably doing a bang-up job of masking any new development. Gotta say, though, that my biceps really, REALLY feel firm these days, which is kinda nice.

Weight: 297
Mood: cheerful

Nope, didn't exercise at all over the weekend -- bad weightlifter, no protein shake. And I should have, too, because I was in the most miserable pre-menstrual funk (partially exacerbated by the fact that I had to do some work for the Hellmouth).

Oddly enough, however, now that the period is about to start, I feel fine. It also helps that I did yesterday's workout this morning (we spent the evening at a Nissan dealership, and are now the proud new parents of a bouncing Frontier pickup truck) -- sitting and standing lat pulldowns, upright rows, dumbbell curls, plus 20 minutes on the reclining bike. I ran out of time for the back hyperextensions, so I'll do those tonight.

Body mods: I don't know if it's water weight or what, but there's definitely a reduction in the gut and butt -- I look a lot tighter than before. My forearms continue to improve, and I'm starting to feel the slightest hints of biceps and triceps -- go me! I also want to start on hand exercises, see if I can build up grip strength since one of these days I would seriously like to take a crack at rock climbing. Apparently women are really good at rock climbing, and it's always looked like a hell of a lot of fun. Besides, there's a sports store at the local mall that has a climbing wall -- that could be cool.
