Mark Stackpole: 6/10/97

The pure stuff. It has been a long time since the embers of that 13 year old boy's sense of wonder have been fired up. Zahn has produced an excellent yarn of alien races, creaky old cargo carrying spaceships, lost colonies and decadent aristocrats. And he has done it with desending into camp. "Starsong" is proof that traditional pulp SF can still produce compelling work.
