Peter J. Heck

Peter Heck is the author of the critically acclaimed "Mark Twain Mysteries" from Berkley Prime Crime: DEATH ON THE MISSISSIPPI, A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN CRIMINAL COURT, THE PRINCE AND THE PROSECUTOR, THE GUILTY ABROAD, THE MYSTERIOUS STRANGLER and TOM'S LAWYER.

Peter also wrote four continuations of the “Phule’s Company” series by the late Robert Asprin. His contributions to the series are A PHULE AND HIS MONEY, PHULE ME TWICE, NO PHULE LIKE AN OLD PHULE and PHULE'S ERRAND. The comic military SF series is perhaps best described as "F Troop in Space." Look for them in a bookstore near you!

Peter is also a regular reviewer for Asimov's Science Fiction,. Besides the written word, his interests include music (playing lead guitar with Col. Leonard's Irregulars) and chess (founding member of the Chestertown Chess Club, and a USCF member). Recently, he has worked as a reporter and photographer for his hometown newspaper, the Kent County News, and has won a number of awards for articles covering local government, the arts, and race relations.
